The service
Clearmark is a Shopify app that displays the harmonised notice on the legal guarantee of conformity published by the European Commission, and optionally the EU GARAN label, on your storefront. Using the app means you accept these terms.
Not legal advice
This is the important one. Clearmark is a display tool. It does not assess whether the obligation applies to you, whether your business is otherwise compliant, or whether your placement satisfies a regulator in a given member state. Nothing in the app or on this site is legal advice. You are responsible for your own compliance, and for deciding whether to take professional advice.
The notice itself
The notice and the GARAN label are published by the European Commission. We distribute the official files unmodified. We do not claim ownership of them, and their use is governed by the Commission's own terms and the relevant EU legislation.
Availability
We aim to keep the service running continuously and serve the notice files from a global CDN, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. If the notice fails to load, the app surfaces the failure rather than hiding it, so you can act.
Fees
The core notice is free. Paid features are billed monthly through Shopify's billing system, and are shown to you before you approve them. Cancel any time by removing the charge or uninstalling the app. Shopify's own refund handling applies; we do not process payments directly.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Clearmark is provided as is, and our total liability arising from the app is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for fines, penalties or losses arising from your compliance decisions.
Ending it
You can uninstall at any time from your Shopify admin. We may suspend the service for misuse, or where required by Shopify or by law. On uninstall, your shop record is deleted as described in the privacy policy.
